The doctor's exceptional expertise in treating a pregnant woman

In April 2024, a pregnant patient at Jam Hospital was under the clinical care of Dr. Soheila Amini Moghadam, an obstetrician-gynecologist and specialist in gynecological oncology, with the following conditions:

The 27-year-old woman was a G1 (first-time pregnant) case and had undergone a liver transplant four years ago due to hepatocellular carcinoma. She was on immunosuppressive medications, tacrolimus and everolimus, which continued throughout her pregnancy. During her pregnancy, she received regular care from Dr. Soheila Amini Moghadam. Screening tests and anomaly scans were normal. In a serial assessment of fetal growth, the baby's weight was at the 8th percentile and the abdominal circumference was at the 2nd percentile. Doppler ultrasound checks of the umbilical artery and brain artery were normal, and the amniotic fluid volume was adequate. Given the mild IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction), she was admitted for delivery at 38 weeks and one day. Upon admission examination, her cervix was closed. She first underwent cervical preparation followed by induction of labor. Due to inadequate progress in labor, she underwent a cesarean section with regional (spinal) anesthesia. A seemingly healthy baby girl was born with an Apgar score of 10 and a weight of 2400 grams. Postpartum bleeding was within normal limits, and the patient was discharged 48 hours after delivery in good overall health.

This surgery is an exceptional example of the skill of the treating physician and the medical team at Jam Hospital, successfully preserving the lives of both the mother and the baby, who left the hospital in stable condition.
