Medical Council of Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club Established with Participation of Jam Hospital Board of Directors

The first meeting of the Medical Council of Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club was held.

The inaugural session of the Medical Council of Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club of Iran was convened with the attendance of Dr. Ali Tajernia, Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors; Dr. Mehrdad Bohlouli, General and Cancer Surgeon, as Chairman of the Medical Council; Dr. Farshid Khatibi, Anesthesiologist, as Vice Chairman; and Dr. Babak Heidari, General Practitioner, as Secretary of the Medical Council of Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club. This council is set to function as the specialized authority for policy-making, drafting standards, and developing health guidelines across all teams and sports disciplines of Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club.

The meeting also emphasized the necessity of forming specialized working groups under the Medical Council so that various athlete health issues can be examined with the participation of experts from each field, and scientific and executive guidelines can be developed accordingly.

Injury prevention and sports medicine, sports injuries and orthopedics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, nutrition and supplements, mental health, health of female athletes and youth categories, medical emergencies, anti-doping, research and education, and medical data registration and analysis were among the areas designated to be addressed within specialized working groups.

Another key focus of the council's first meeting was moving toward the creation of a comprehensive health record for Esteghlal Cultural and Sports Club athletes and a system for injury registration and monitoring. This would not only preserve medical records but also enable scientific analysis of injury rates and patterns, athletes' absence durations, and risk factors, ultimately facilitating the design of effective preventive programs.
